Well there have been a good number of studies where people where fed NA-beer and told it was real. They acted all sloppy drunk as if they'd been quaffing the real stuff. They sobered up pretty quickly when told the truth but some of them took some convincing before they believed it.

yes, the alcohol having a small molecular structure has no problem getting through the filter (just like it gets through the blood brain barrier), hell, alcohol can be absorbed through the skin. However, vodka isn't all alcohol--and the nasties are big enough to be filtered out. So enjoy!

Glenlivet, the length of methanol (grain alcohol) molecules is measured in ANGSTROMS, not microns. In other words, the molecules are about 10,000 times smaller than you report (one source says they are 5.5 angstroms in length). So ethanol has NO PROBLEM going through a one micron filter.

alright. heres the lowdown kids:

a brita filter is a mesh of 1.0 micron filters. which obviously means it holds back anything measuring 1.0 micron or larger. most alcohols found in recreational beverages average 4-32 microns in size (depending on the type of alcohol; grain alcohol - or more specifically ethanol - commonly measures from 3.5 microns to 10)

form your own conclusions.

a company named Millipore produces 5 micron filters that can be found easily on the internet for as low as $35(USD), and as a general rule of thumb they become cheaper as the micron spec becomes lower.

of course then, youd have to find out what impurities are in your particular drink of choice and how large they are in microns.

Yesterday was my first therapy session, and that's how it ended. Not being the most forthcoming person at any time in my life, this was one of the most difficult hours I've spent.

Choked up most of the time, wet eyes, unable to convey what was needed. Part of what I went through but didn't bring forth just how far I'd let myself sink. That will come, I'm certain, sometime during the next sessions.

I know now that having to cold turkey off the anti-depressents was a big contributing factor to what happened, combined with my inability to ask for help when I was desperate for it.

Yuck
