Frying is basically connecting a cartridge game so that it doesn't quite work properly. On Nintendo it usually meant a flashing screen and some lovely glitches or a big color field. On oldschool Atari it meant sometimes even being able to still play the game, in a slightly glitched out form. The Stella Atari 2600 emulator has a cool feature that emulates frying an Atari cartridge.
Max Capacity sat down for a little while with the latest version of the Stella Emulator and some Atari roms and emulated frying them to get a bunch of interesting images. They're up on Flickr in Max's Atari Frying set. And you can keep up with Max's projects at maxcapacity.tumblr.com
