Santa Cruz Vampire Census Fall 2008

Santa Cruz is a great place to live. And a great place to be dead. Vampires figured that out a long time ago. The Lost Boys may have referred to Santa Cruz as Santa Carla, but the real vampires know the score. This time last year, I infiltrated their organization deeply enough to gather reconnaissance on their feeding and meeting locations. Unfortunately, my identity was revealed and I had to abort the mission.

So I'm back on the street with a pickup truck full of stakes and a canteen full of holy water. Just in case. I'm no vampire hunter. I just don't want vampires hunting me. Luckily, they tend to prey on drunk, vulnerable college girls and homeless dregs who won't be missed. Still, they know who I am, probably better than I know who they are. So I'll be up at night sharpening my stakes in the bowels of Pod Six, keeping an eye on the road that leads to the harbor feeding grounds.
